Camelback Scottsdale, Arizona, USA

At the end of September my wife was planning to retire, so we organized a two week break in Camelback Scottsdale, Arizona for October, to have a holiday of a lifetime.

The resort was beautiful. A five star resort snuggled under the Camelback Mountain. It was brilliant awakening to blue skies with the sun coming up illuminating the palm trees by the pool. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, and the concierge office had all the trips listed with directions and help. We had pre-booked a car as we wanted to take in the Grand Canyon, and other areas of interest. Phoenix is a metro area in the US. It’s quite large and at first seemed a little intimidating. But having got the hang of the satellite navigation, soon we were off exploring.

Flagstaff rests a 7200 feet above sea level, and is on route to the Canyon. We wanted to check out the local Arboretum. It was within sight of the Lowell Observatory, crisp and clean temperature was in the upper 80’s F. Pressing on to the Canyon we arrived a t the south rim before it got dark. I cannot describe the sensation on first viewing the Canyon. It’s awesome. Massive is an understatement, so is huge. The beauty is overwhelming, the reaction to the vista just exposed my human frailty, and weakness. We stayed there two days, taking in a helicopter ride over the canyon and an evening jeep trip to see the sun go down over the cowboy films it was a place of immense beauty, and grandeur. We went to see Cave Creek north of Phoenix which has some of the highest real estate in Arizona, this time on a local tour booked through the resort. Downtown Scottsdale has many galleries and fine places to eat. All over the area designer malls are available if you wish to shop. Plenty of gold courses and places of interest within driving distance, through distance in America is deceiving.

Once of the highlights for us was a visit to the Botanical garden, not far from Scottsdale. The garden has been sculptured in the desert, and it was so peaceful going slowly around the garden. Volunteers were positioned along the route to tell us more about the Native Americans who inhabited the area, as well as information on the animals and plat species found in the desert. The area of Phoenix only gets seven inches of rain a yea, the winter rains coming in February, I told everyone that we can get seven inches in a couple of fays in Wales! There were lots of things we didn’t get time, like live football match, and the State fair, but we both agree that it was a holiday that we shall remember or long time.

Pueblo Real, Costa Rica

Betty/Joanne, Thanks so much for your assistance in getting going on our first visit to a Geo resort. We loved Costa Rica and Pueblo Real was a perfect spot for us. We visited many beaches, went on several eco tours, had lots of fine meals and of course, enjoyed many hours around the beautiful pool.

Your rep. Jocelyn was very pleasant and helpful over the two weeks. We look forward to out next trip through Geo.

Hi Betty,

We have not had the privilege of speaking as yet but I wanted to write to you to give you some feedback on my experiences in dealing with the customer care folks at GEO.

First, let me begin by saying that it has been about 1 year and 9 months since my wife and I have been GEOPlus members. We had been aware of travel club and timeshare arrangements prior to joining but it wasn't until 2005 that our lives and the benefits of Club membership aligned.

To make this short and sweet, the experience has been truly life changing for us, refocusing our priorities and bringing much needed balance to our lives. I am sure that my wife might argue, in fact, that the balance pendulum has perhaps gone too far, as I am frequently searching out new opportunities and planning our next adventure, whether that be just the two of us or with family or friends. Our initial relationship with GEO has evolved into a growing connection with I.C.E., R.C.I and others, with each exposure creating additional opportunities for today and as importantly, tomorrow.

With that said, back to the point of this email.

At the heart of any successful service-oriented enterprise are the people. We hear this all the time but tend not to recognize it when we see it. I have also heard that Canadians, in general, tend to be less demanding and more accepting of lackluster customer service than other Western cultures. If this is true, it is unfortunate in my opinion and is not an attribute that I share.

Over the course of our 21 months in the Club we have had many occasions to test-drive the GEO Member Services Team. Obviously each experience is different given that unique individuals bring their own personalities to the customer experience. There are, however, two individuals from whom I have received consistently high quality customer service and it is for this reason that I am writing to you.

I have wanted to do something for some time, something more than just passing on my usual thanks, so I thought I would drop you a line and highlight their performance in the hopes that GEO corporate recognizes those who continually strive to espouse a strong, genuine commitment to customer service excellence. The two individuals are Joanne Bass and Carroll Reynolds.

It is no surprise to us why these two individuals play the roles that they do for the organization. I cannot think of two better suited people to develop and nurture the client relationship in a way that leaves the customer talking about both the merits of Club membership, but equally important, the service experience, long after the reservation is in the books. Their performance has been exemplary in our judgment and worthy of modeling throughout the organization.

We look forward to continuing to grow and benefit from our relationship with GEO and the other affiliations we have developed as a result of our membership.

Sincerely,

S & J Aughey
